The mainstream media has decided to wage an all-out attack on "fake news", which is defined as any news or public opinion that goes against the Establishment's agenda. The problem with this is that since the American Revolution, America has depended on "fake news" to manipulate public opinion.
In 1769, John Adams himself admitted to writing fake news in order to discredit King George and weaken his support in New England.
In 1782, Benjamin Franklin wrote a fake news story about American soldiers finding the scalps of over 700 men, women, and children taken by the Indian allies of King George.
Fake news was used by the Founding Fathers to help advance the interests of their cause, and so it is ironic that the Establishment thinks that it has a right to censor what it considers "fake news".
